How PT-141 works
PT-141 is a melanocortin receptor agonist acting on MC3R and MC4R in the hypothalamus. Rather than dilating vessels, it raises central sexual arousal signalling — which is why it works independently of the nitric-oxide pathway PDE5 inhibitors rely on.
