Semax

ACTH(4-10) analogue

BDNF-driven focus and neural plasticity.

BDNFNGF
Abstract brand visual representing Semax, a acth(4-10) analogue

How Semax works

Semax is a synthetic fragment of ACTH with the hormonal activity stripped out. It raises BDNF and NGF expression in the hippocampus and modulates dopaminergic and serotonergic tone, which is why the effect reads as sharper attention rather than stimulation.

Reported benefits

  • Increased BDNF and neuroplasticity
  • Sharper focus and working memory
  • Neuroprotection under ischaemic or oxidative stress
  • Non-stimulant mechanism

Reported side effects

Effects reported in published trials, case reports or post-market surveillance. Individual response varies; this list is educational and not exhaustive.

  • Nasal irritation with intranasal use
  • Headache and irritability
  • Sleep disruption if dosed late
  • Human data largely limited to Russian clinical practice

Regulatory status & sources
